You know I've posted my
Top 10 Greatest Anime of All Time on the blog. I kept mentioning on that post that it's a bias list because I haven't seen every anime title out there. And I based my list on popularity, who people I encountered like them, and how I liked them.
Now, let's hear your list. You can base it on any criteria that you want. After all, it is your list. ^_^

I honestly have dozens of anime that either equal in quality or overlap each other, so I can't narrow it down in one little list of 10. ^^; Maybe favorites... but my "favorites" either range from 15-20 and I can't just pick 10 of out them all because as I said, they're either equal in quality or overlap with each other, so I can't decide.
Maybe I can... If I narrow them down to the ones that stood out the most to me:
1) Cardcaptor Sakura
2) Azumanga Daioh / Lucky Star (either one...)
3) Fullmetal Alchemist / Rurouni Kenshin (either one under the criteria of "awesome shounen")
4) The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
5) Shakugan no Shana
6) FLCL (it was pure genius!)
7) Kanon
8) Hayate no Gotoku!
9) Tengen Toppa Gurren Laggan
10) [insert one of Hayao Miyazaki's films]
Let's see ... I guess for my list, I'll just go with 10 anime that I wouldn't mind rewatching over and over again (though I could probably come up with a few that are just so all around wonderful that every anime fan should watch them ... but it's all subjective
)

-Revolutionary Girl Utena (39 ep series + movie)
-Slayers (NEXT season, specifically)
-Mushishi (26 ep series)
-Comedy (OAV released by Studio 4C)
Lots of others I could add ... for example, Noein will almost certainly be added once I finish it, and Honey & Clover and Jyu Oh Sei were very, very close. Ack, so tough....

There are titles from manga that I know will be tops in my rating if its turned into an anime... unfortunately so far no news about that.
1) Cardcaptor Sakura
2) Tsubasa (a bit too slow-paced for the anime)
3) Chobits (ok... actually I love all of Clamp's productions)
4) Weiz Kruez
5) Inuyasha
6) DN Angel
7) Get Backers
8) Saiyuki
9) Rurouni Kenshin (or Samurai X, but I prefer the manga, cos my favourite character is in fact not Kenshin but Hajime Saitou)
10) Detective Conan (almost forgot about this important title)
And these are just what I remember off my head at the moment...
I'm not going to include movies/OVAs because comparing single works to series is like comparing apples and oranges.

My opinion is limited by the fact that I've never seen some major series, such as Evangelion, or any shojo series.
