You heard him, folks.

*cracks knuckles* This calls for some massive email spamming and private life invasion.

This guy ^^^ is getting on my nerves. Better hope I don't see you in school
I'm sorry, it's errrrr...........my natural instinct of self-defence...? Not doing a very good job of defending myself am I? XD Wonder where I stored away that last will...
For anyone that's interested, I wrote an article consisting of my opinion on learning Japanese from anime (it was also my sample article to become a staff writer here):

As a self-study student of the language, I can recommend a few resources for learning Japanese.

Tae Kim's Guide to Japanese Grammar is, in my opinion, an excellent start for building a foundation in Japanese grammar. I still use it, and I've been studying for quite a while (though not as much as I'd like to on account of my other responsibilities). It has an abundance of useful content.

The most useful feature of this site, I think, is the active message board, which is frequented by some native Japanese speakers, and a number of members in the
JET program. You can post questions here or practice your Japanese with the other members of the board.

A Dictionary of Basic Japanese Grammar by Seiichi Makino and Michio Tsutsui
Like the title says, this is a book on Japanese grammar, compiled into dictionary format. Over 600 pages of content with great explanations that detail how to use certain structures and different nuances associated with them. The title says
Basic Japanese Grammar, but with all of the content in this book, there is definitely plenty of material for an intermediate learner as well. Even if you already know the structures in this book, going back and reviewing what you think you already know can help give you more insight on the grammar structures you're already familiar with. A terrific book.
