I think I just posted a pet peeve of mine in the blog now let here yours. Like do you get corrected when you say "animes"? Or do people get mad at you when you refer to anime as cartoons? ^_^

I get annoyed with stereotypes that everybody who watches anime are emo/goth freaks. My favorite color is pink kthnxbye.

Goth freaks? Lol never heard of that one before.

As for pet peeves, I got endless upon endless amounts of them, but none of them really have anything to do with anime.... oh, I do get pretty pissed off when somebody says "POT is freaking awesome" and tells everyone to go watch it. Sorry to disappoint sports fanatics, but sports anime is made of crap, with the only exception of slam dunk. In all reality, sports anime is like a crapped up version of bleach and naruto, where the main can power up infinitely well and beyond physical limitations while their physical appearances undertake almost zero changes. At least Goku turns blond after screaming for 3 episodes. I swear to god every time I see a ball burst into flames and move at sonic speed, I feel like smashing a monitor or two. Worse thing is, after winning the championships with the use of some crappy sorcery...THERE'S ALWAYS NEXT YEAR!!! Yay~~~~ we know this show's never gonna end! Bah, I'll stop ranting now ._.

I'm glad you said that. I'm a huge fan of slam dunk. ^_^ Well there's another sports anime that I really liked -- Hajime No Ippo. Maybe because I'm a huge boxing fan as well. But other than those two, I don't like other sports anime like Prince of Tennis.. is Initial D a sports anime?

Come on, don't you know PoT is all about the bishounen? ^_^ Do guys even watch that show? It's not really about the tennis. (For the record, though, I've only *actually watched* one episode. But my friend is obsessed, so I hear a lot about it ^^; )

As for anime pet peeves ... for one, I dislike when fanfic writers use random Japanese for no particular reason other than "it sounds cool." I'm talking about stuff like "Her aoi eyes shone brightly and he thought 'OMG, so KAWAII!!!!!11'" It's cool to try to learn Japanese and practice it with your friends, but in posted fanfiction? Or on communities? Please no.

People who act really self-righteous about downloading fansubs kind of annoy me too. I don't care if people download fansubs. Most anime fans do, myself included. Downloading because you want to see more anime is great. Downloading because 'American companies are all EVIL and edit EVRYTHNG but fansubbers are GOD' is just kind of stupid. I've grown to appreciate the efforts most American companies put into their anime releases (with a few exceptions, of course). And while fansubbers are amazing people for doing what they do, they're not perfect either. (But I guess this fits under the general category of "I hate it when people bash things for stupid reasons" ^^)

Well that's the stereotype in my high school. Oh and the reason why the Hot Topic store near us sells anime goodies. I just get annoyed by that one especially when I'm walking in pink skirts and blouses .

Yeah god I hate those damn Hot Topic anime fans >.>, but above that I hate the people that ramble on and on about how whatever series they are watching is better than anything I could be watching and I should drop everything and watch it. I mean suggesting a series, fine sure, but as soon as you try to make my watching choices for me, I will normally rip them apart and usually tell them about how said series sucks (which it may not). I mostly take suggestions I found some of my favorite series though them, but there is no need to force it on me or keep pluging it after I said no thanks or whatever.

Yes. Apperently they do not understand the meaning of one or both of the words. Anime would be considered a genre of cartoons. Then if you use anime as a shortened term of animation cartoons would be part of naime. It's very aggrivating when people try and "correct" me when I call Azu Manga Diaoh a cartoon.

My biggest pet peeves with anime and manga are the editing and censorship the stories are put through to make them palatable for a North American audience. Just because it's a graphic novel or is animated, does not make it automatically for children. Anime geared for teens and adults in Japan should be marketed to teens and adults over here too, with no censorship or editing.

My list of fanfiction pet peeves could go on for pages. The aforementioned fangirl nihongo is definitely up there. I used to put random Japanese in my stories when I thought that's what you were supposed to do, but have since stopped (with a few exceptions).

Of course I also dislike the butchery of grammar, spelling and punctuation that is frequently found in the Pit. The grammarian in me weeps!

Of course, I also hate vampire and high school fics. Those have been done to death, so please stop writing them! I don't mind modern AU, but it should be warned of in the summary and not sprung on the readers.

I would say that many people think that watching all these cartoons are so childish and stupid compared to how old you though I think that's so messed up cuz u can watch anime until u die and it wouldn't matter. also I hate how they mess things up so badly sometimes in the anime compared to the show though sometimes it's okay and makes a bit more sense...
